The base game is a pretty standard experience, but with the Crystal Balls, Crystal Coins and Snowflakes all in play, Crystal Queen's Coins offers a rather more exciting base game than a lot of other slots. That said, as usual, the fastest way to bigger prizes is by getting yourself into the Frozen Fortune bonus around as quickly as possible.
Finding 3 or more Crystal Coin symbols lets you enter the Frozen Fortune Bonus with 3 free spins. In this round, only Crystal Coins, Snowflakes, or Crystal Ball Multipliers appear. However, there’s also the possibility that the positions remain blank with no symbols, which is not something Quickspin mentions in the game rules!
All the symbols you land in this bonus round remain sticky, and finding a new symbol resets the spin count to 3. When they land, Crystal Balls multiply all Snowflakes and Crystal Coin values currently on the reels. When the round has finished, the values of all Snowflakes and Crystal Coin symbols in view are awarded.
I enjoyed this feature, and I managed to bag myself a few extra quid. However, I wasn't able to retrigger the round, and 3 spins felt a little bit mean, especially given that I managed to land 5 Crystal Coins in the base game.
There is the option to buy your way into this bonus feature for 60x your stake, but I wanted to see how long it would take for me to get there alone. Luckily, I managed to land at 3 Crystal Coins within a few minutes and I was in.

In my own personal experience, it didn't take me long to get to the free spins round, but as mentioned, once there I wasn't able to retrigger the feature. I also didn't land any of the 4 jackpots, but that's not to say that you won't!
Crystal Queen's Coins is a very ‘Disney princess’ type of affair, with nicely drawn characters that include a very hunky Viking-looking fella with possibly the most absurd moustache I’ve ever seen, along with a redheaded beauty and, of course, the stunning Crystal Queen herself.
Although I have no real complaints about the design, I feel like Quickspin could have done a slightly better job of making this game stand out.
Crystal Queen's Coins is nicely animated, but is visually quite forgettable and could be thrown on the same old pile as many other mythical-themed games quite easily. The background is snowy, and I'm assuming, enchanted forest, and the soundtrack is a very serene harp-centred tune.
I had an enjoyable time playing Crystal Queen's Coins. I was a little disheartened at how similar this game is to Catrina's Coins, but ultimately, Quickspin has done some things to differentiate between the two releases, such as adding fixed jackpots, which I don’t think anyone is going to complain about.
The base game is quite dynamic for a very standard slot, and the free spins round definitely kicks things up a notch. I would have liked slightly more original animations and graphics for this theme, but with 4 jackpots and a very generous top prize of 10,151x, what this game lacks in visuals, it certainly makes up for with winning potential.
