In theory, it should be pretty simple to land a win thanks to the Megaways win line mechanic. It allows every reel to produce up to seven symbols which can mean a maximum of 117,649 ways to land a prize.
As wins are paid out, the winning symbols disappear and everything else starts to fall towards the bottom of the reels. Empty spaces get a new symbol and this could mean more wins.
As the name suggests, there are some wild symbols that help connect wins and even improve others that are already there. And in this game, the wilds are blazing!
Wild symbols land on their own but start to make a move and produce more as soon as they hit. They grow to the top of the reels and produce a stack as high as they can go. At the top of this stack is a multiplier, which is equal to the number of wild symbols below it. The multiplier applies to any wins that the wilds help create.
Between four and six scatter symbols award you up to 25 free spins and this is more than you’d expect from most slots. Not much changes, however, but the expanding wilds will double the amount for the multipliers that hit the top of the stack. You can't retrigger any of your spins.
When a wild lands on the reel, it expands upwards, creating a stack. The stack continues until the top row before a multiplier, equal to the number of wilds, arrives on top. This figure applies to any wins that the wilds help create.
4, 5 or 6 scatters get you 15, 20 or 25 free spins. The added extra here is that the multipliers are now worth double what they were during the base game.
Maybe I picked this game up at the wrong time but I didn't see too much of anything taking place – it's got high volatility, so this isn't unusual. Be prepared and keep an eye on your bankroll. The RTP is 96.06% and the max win is 10,000x.
It's no secret that I'm not a fan of jokers and unfortunately, there's one standing to the right of the reels. That slight annoyance aside, I have to say that it looks fine on a mobile phone screen as the creepy entertainer is even smaller! A few basic squares and patterns appear in the background and the soundtrack is akin to an 80s game show.
The stacked wilds aren't anything new but the added multipliers on top of the stack are fairly unique and I don't come across these every day. Megaways is as it always is and produces a little extra excitement. Overall, it's only really the payouts that will keep you here.
