We have been here a thousand times before but perhaps there's something in this creation that will reignite my love for this series. At first glance, it's got all the usual Big Bass gameplay that we all know and love, but there seems to be something fishy going on in the bonus game. I'm looking forward to seeing how Pragmatic Play intends to keep us all intrigued with yet another addition to the Big Bass saga.
As usual, you will see the famous bass symbols making their way across these reels with cash values attached to them. You can't do anything about these cash values during the base game though and this has always been one of my biggest gripes as far as this slot series is concerned.
Therefore, the biggest wins are definitely reserved for the bonus area and the base game is just a waiting room. Still, it's an iconic slot series and I can't knock it too much as I've had a lot of fun playing these games over the years.
The base game consists of a 5x3 setup and other than the fish/cash symbols, you'll see royals and various picture symbols which land you regular wins on these 10 paylines. The royals are worth up to 10x and the pictures grow to 200x. The money symbols are worth up to 5,000x and you'll need to hit at least three scatter symbols to stand a chance of seeing these fall into your net.
Three, four or five scatters get you 15, 20 or 25 free spins, respectively. A wild fisherman can collect the value of the cash symbols and this is where the fun really begins. However, there is a caveat in this game and that is there are two wild fisherman symbols.
That sounds great for collecting cash values but the truth is a little murkier.
As is tradition, there's a meter that collects any wild symbols along the way and once you have four, you build up an extra multiplier and grab some more free spins. In this game, there are two meters so you're going to need to see even more wild symbols landing to push you up that meter. There are more forgiving versions of the Big Bass Bonanza out there.
You always get a little extra modifier during the bonus game in these Big Bass slots and they appear in the form of a fish hook which pulls up a random wild symbol when you have fish symbols on the screen but no fishermen. Also, if there's a fisherman but no fish at the end of a free spin, a bazooka might appear to mix up the symbols.
I found it difficult to hook any spectacular prizes during the free spins game and I suspect this is largely due to the two collection meters that are kind of battling against each other.
For some players outside the UK, you can buy directly into the regular free spins for 100x and there's also an option to pay 300x for super free spins. If you’d just like to increase your chances of winning the feature naturally, you can pay 1.5x your bet to do so.
Money symbols are a familiar site in the Big Bass series and they appear here once again with values worth up to 5,000x. You'll need to enter the bonus game and see the wild symbols hit to collect these values.

If you’re lucky enough, you could see a max win of up to 5,000x and given the high volatility and the opportunity to land an instant cash prize of that value, I can see it happening at some point. I didn't come anywhere close but that's the luck of the draw. After playing the base game and the bonus game a few times, my balance wasn't able to get back to where it started. The RTP is, as always, respectable at 96.5%.
Don't expect too much in the way of visual treats as it's the same old setup, but this time we are in Vegas. You get a cheesy game show soundtrack and there's not much here to separate this game from any of the others in the series. Regardless, you can still play it on your mobile if you wish.
Is this my favourite Big Bass game? Probably not! However, there are still opportunities here to land big cash prizes and at least you’ll find everything very familiar. It's your choice, you might just like spinning the reels on Big Bass Vegas Double Down Deluxe but I think I prefer Amazon Xtreme.
