Simple yet powerful seems to be the order of the day in Asgard with a fairly basic 5x3 setup and just 25 paylines. Across these lines, you can land 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols to create a win and as usual, royal symbols are the least valuable. The ace maxes out at just 2x for a group of 5.
However, there are four picture symbols and the highest available is 10x for a 5-of-a-kind win. Asgard symbols are Wild and these can substitute for all others except the Bonus symbol. The idea of 4 base game modifiers is fantastic in theory but only if they turn up regularly. I played this game for a while and managed to trigger them with reasonable frequency. The same concept continues into the free spins round, which is nice from a continuity point of view but not so great if you're looking for something different when you trigger the bonus game. It depends on the compromises you’re willing to make.

There's not a lot to it but my trip to Asgard was fairly eventful as the features and modifiers arrived pretty often. This is great news for players in the UK especially as we can't buy our way into the bonus round.
