The low payers can grab you up to 2.5x for a group of six and the picture symbols pay up to 6x. There are many other symbols including stars, coins, jackpots, red sevens and I think that's about it! Let's take a look at what they all do.
Coin symbols can only land on the central four reels and you'll see this bordered off to show you what's happening. Each time a coin lands, the ladder at the side of the reels begins to climb and what you're aiming for is a complete set of 16 coin symbols.
Each time you reach 100 coins on the meter to the left, you progress to the next stage of the jackpot ladder. All of this makes sense when you enter the Star Ladder Jackpot.
Before we get there though, the full set of 16 coins will trigger the Big Spin and this means you have a chance of hitting cash prizes and jackpots. You simply have one spin and what you'll get is either a blank screen, a coin symbol or jackpot symbols partially or fully in view.
The cash symbols are broken down into individual cash prizes and the four lower jackpots only need to be partially in view to award the payout. The grand prize of 5,000x must be completely in view.
Landing four star symbols gives you a bit of time in the Star Ladder Jackpot game and now you have another opportunity to hit some big prizes. The level of the ladder all depends on how you fare during the base game.
As explained before, the level increases with every 100 coins. You trigger the bonus game and enter on that level and whilst the top prizes stay the same, you will be able to get there quicker as the lower prizes increase more rapidly with higher levels.
Each star that lands moves you up a step on the cash ladder and you'll win up to 5,000x as stars land. All of these stars will give you another three spins and once you run out of spins, you simply collect your prize from the ladder.
There are a lot of fun distractions during the base game and it doesn't feel like you're playing for a bonus as the triggering mechanism keeps you on your toes. I made my way to the Big Spin a couple of times and it provided payouts of 11x and 0x. Twice I managed to approach the Star Ladder jackpot and I received 20x and 5x.
Players outside the UK can buy the Star Ladder Jackpot game and this costs 100x. You spin a wheel and it determines on which level you begin.
Each time a coin symbol lands within the central four reels, the position is marked. If you get all 16 marked by a coin, you get to take a Big Spin. The central 16 spaces create one area and produce either cash multipliers, jackpots or nothing.
Four bonus symbols activate the jackpot ladder and three spins are yours. Each time a new star symbol lands, the three spins are renewed. When you run out of spins, you pick up your prize on the ladder and return to the base game.
The individual symbol payouts aren't bad and if you manage to land a few decent combos, your balance will be very happy. However, you are kind of distracted by the coin symbols and these big spins can easily outweigh your regular payouts.
I was very excited as I entered the Big Spin bonus but I was very disappointed with the results. Landing 11x for doing little more than spinning the reels isn't bad I guess. It's a nice added extra but it doesn't really feel like a bonus game unless you hit something massive.
I imagine there is potential there for some people to rise up through the ranks and get to the top of the ladder. This will result in the 5,000x max win and with high volatility, it should occur every so often. The payouts below this may not be terribly impressive. The RTP is 96%.
This game has a strange fruit machine/game show feel and the music would suggest that I’m pretty much on the money with that description. The symbols are an eclectic mix of lucky icons and fruit machine classics and the general feel is a nice bright and happy display. It looks basic but attractive and the same can be said for when it's reproduced on smaller mobile screens as well.
