Panagiotis Chryssovitsanos takes over as CEO of Quickspin
There's a new CEO at Quickspin
It's been announced today that Quickspin's CEO Daniel Lindberg is stepping down and will be replaced by Panagiotis Chryssovitsanos who has been at the company for almost 10 years.
Lindberg founded Quickspin with Mats Westerlund and Joachim Timmermans almost 11 years ago. Chryssovitsanos will be stepping up to CEO and will have the help of Lindberg for his transitional stage.
A history of Chryssovitsanos
In 2013, Chryssovitsanos joined Quickspin as Chief Technology Officer. He was responsible for enabling the company's growth and building a production team as well as setting an executing strategy.
He performed in this role for over 6 years before being promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, he took responsibility for the platform department, project management office, game studio and operations team.
Prior to his time at Quickspin, he served as a Consultant Unit Manager at IT Ledarna as well as being a Studio manager at Avalanche Studios for over years. His career started as a Game Developer at Paradox Entertainment in 2002, before becoming a Project Lead Developer in 2002 at Rock Solid Studios.
“A natural progression,” says Lindberg
Former CEO Lindberg expresses his opinions on the promotion as well as refers to Chryssovitsanos by the nickname Jotis. In his statement, he said: “Nearly 11 years have passed since I founded Quickspin together with my friends Mats and Joachim, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created over the years: the progress we’ve made in the industry, what we have achieved as a team and the company we have become.”
He added: “Handing over to Jotis feels like a natural progression in the development of Quickspin. I’ve always said I wouldn’t leave until all the fundamental pieces for future success are in place, and that time is now.”
“We’re a stronger and more knowledgeable company in every way,” says Chryssovitsanos
Chryssovitsanos commented on the news: “It’s a great honour to be given this opportunity and I’m humbled by the trust Daniel has put in me, because he’s truly been living and breathing Quickspin for 11 years now.”
He added: “I agree with Daniel on where we stand and what the future holds. Today, we’re a stronger and more knowledgeable company in every way – one that’s in control of its business and destiny.”
It's been suggested that Lindberg will remain on board to support Chryssovitsanos in his transition from the COO to CEO.
