Aphrodite's Fortune takes place on a slightly strange-looking set of reels. The first and last reels only have four symbols on them but the central four reels have five. Wins are formed by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels with groups of three, four, five or six bringing you the payouts you are looking for.
The low payers will only grab up to 1x but the picture symbols max out at 5x. There are a few medium payers in there as well with payments ranging from 0.3x to 1.5x. Wild symbols can only land on the central four reels and these substitute for the regular paying symbols mentioned above.
Coin symbols can be far more valuable than regular symbols and present payouts worth between 0.25x and 25x. These coins can only land on the central four reels and you'll need a collect symbol to join in and grab their values. One of them is sufficient and you can land this on the first or last reel.
Land two collect symbols and you'll trigger the Coin Avalanche game, which is a separate bonus area that offers the chance to land multiplier values and jackpot prizes.
The stone columns fall down onto the reels and if one of them displays a cash or jackpot prize, then the bonus continues. When you don't reveal a special prize, it's game over and you collect all of the rewards that are currently sitting on the grid.
You need four bonus symbols to trigger the Free Spins Bonus and when this happens, you play 10 times for free! Only special symbols are available during this game and each individual position has a multiplier worth up to 5x. Multipliers on a position where coin symbols land get increased and heart symbols will also increase a random number of positions.

You might only be able to pick up the huge prizes during the bonus game but that's not to say that something attractive won't arrive on those coins in the base game. I didn't land enormous wins in the Coin Avalanche but the free spins bonus fared much better with those individual multiplier spaces that began to build up some pretty attractive rewards. My final total was over 100x.

Aphrodite's Fortune isn't what I would usually expect from Fantasma Games and it has a bit of a rushed feel to it. Lots of care and attention has gone into the ideas behind the game but the visual presentation is unintentionally retro. There's a lot of gold leaf and a few basic hints at the theme but it doesn't feel like it's been tied together perfectly.
I wasn't a huge fan of the visual presentation but the gameplay more than made up for it. With two bonus games and the opportunity to land up to 5,000x with instant jackpot prizes, no one's really going to complain about the lack of pretty animation!
