Rotiki Review
In the 1700s, there was a great tribe with an ever grander leader. Sadly, the leader was a hoarder who kept all of the treasures to himself and even buried them with him when he died.
Just ahead to the future and Play'n GO has uncovered this mystery grave and it's overflowing with treasure. Rotiki is a tiki slot that plays on a grid of 6x8 and is all about respins.
Design
Rotiki is bursting with colour and life as you load up the slot. In the distance, there is a volcano that is overflowing but that's just a small detail in the background. On the reels, there are various stunning plant life and unique totem heads that are animating throughout spins.
These totem heads are actually featured as symbols on the reels and these also animate on the reels which is a cool attention to detail. This slot is just so colourful and vibrant, that you can't help but appreciate it.
As for the sounds in this slot, there is a steady drum throughout the slot and whistle noises. When the slot spins, this is enhanced with an added drum beat. It's nothing overly special but it fits in well with the slot.
Gameplay
The gameplay for this slot is quite unusual but mesmerising. The goal of the slot is to spin to match up wins which leads to further respins and additional features. Nothing is too complicated but it's fascinating to watch.
At the bottom of the screen, there is the spin button with the bet level as well as additional settings. Anything the player will need can be found at the bottom of the screen.
Win Potential
Sadly, this is the main problem area with the slot as the maximum win is quite disappointing. Rotiki is a medium volatility slot that can only reach wins of up to 1,000x the stake which is low for modern slots. Of course, the RTP for this slot is decent at 96.20% - but cannot counteract the ridiculous maximum win.
Our Verdict
For the most part, Rotiki is fantastic and absolutely mesmerising to play. The gameplay is quite fresh with only respins and it looks absolutely stunning.
However, the win potential is all over the place and will definitely leave players feeling unsatisfied. We have no idea why Play'n GO didn't do the traditional 5,000x the stake maximum win as that would be better.
For those who love tiki slots that are quite unconventional, Rotiki is definitely recommended but just be aware of the low maximum win.
