Luchamigos Review
Mexican wrestling is an unusual theme for Play’n GO to tackle but it’s nice to see a change from the usual slot genres. So, will this slot make us want to go and buy a unitard and bejewelled mask immediately? There’s only one way to find out.
Design
Maybe we expected a little too much in terms of design from this game, given its fun theme. But ultimately, Luchamigos is a bit dull on the visual front.
Apart from the characters themselves, the symbols in this slot are pretty uninspired. It resembles a fruit machine with very standard card suit images and a few wrestling belt symbols that feel very much like an afterthought.
The Luchamigos are quite fun, but the dusty town square in the background and a generic Central American guitar soundtrack drag down what should have been a vibrant and colourful game.
Game Play
This slot offers quite a good gaming session thanks to the various special features. The free spins round has a lot of potential for landing some decent wins, and the 1,024 pay lines make this slot title a little more interesting than a standard 5x4 game.
Win Potential
With 1,024 ways to win, plus wilds, dynamic scatters and a top prize of 10,000x your stake, there’s definitely potential to walk away from this game a very proud Luchador.
That said, with high volatility you may have to fight your way through a few rounds before you see a decent win.
Our Verdict
We wanted so much more from this game! With so many cool scatters and wilds, an epic theme and a huge jackpot, Luchamigos had the potential to be our new favourite slot. However, it seems like Play’n GO picked a cool theme and some fun functions, and then went to lunch and forgot about it.
The design lacks any real flare but the added features will hold your attention while you wait to land a solid win. All in all, a pretty standard slot that you might enjoy if you’re a Mexican wrestling fan in need of a bit of nostalgia.
Paul spent plenty of time in arcades up and down the UK discovering all of the best fruit machines and watching them grow into the incredible online slots we see today. He still loves the basic format but also has a soft spot for games with big bonus rounds that progress as you play. Immortal Romance is one of his favourite slots of all time.
