Crabbin’ For Cash Extra Big Catch Review
On the surface, this slot shares a lot of similarities with many other fish-themed games. You can see straight away that there is some form of cash collection system that requires special symbols and you get the feeling that the excitement is all stored up for the bonus round. We feel like we may have been here before, but let's give it a fair chance to impress us and show us what it's made of.
Design
Starting with the game's design, you have a very static but reasonably attractive ocean background and the reels sit below the surface with the ship on top. The premise is that the fishermen above will be reeling in these tasty treats along with the multiplier cash prizes during the bonus game.
There isn't much in the way of animation or special imagery to keep your eyes occupied while those reels spin so don't expect too much of a visual delight.
The soundtrack is a synthesised reggae-esque sea shanty—very strange— which builds up the tempo during the bonus round. This may or may not float your boat.
While a little mediocre, all of the above is available on Apple and Android devices which means you can access this game on your mobile wherever you choose to play.
Game Play
It might seem like the crustacean cash symbols are simply taking up valuable space on the reels as you can't collect their prizes during the base game. However, they do have standard symbol payouts as well and if 3 or more of these land on a pay line during the base game, then you will score a small prize.
There's no hiding away from the fact that everything is building up to the free spins bonus and you aren't going to find huge levels of excitement until you get there. When you arrive at this feeding frenzy of a feature, everything relies heavily on those fishermen symbols and how often they turn up to collect the big prizes.
Win Potential
We haven't seen an exact maximum payout available for this game as Blueprint Gaming hadn't released this information at the time of conducting our review. What we can tell you is that the volatility setting is medium-high and the RTP is a little light at just 95%.
Our Verdict
The bonus game does have a good amount of entertainment in store if you manage to land those scatter symbols, but reasonably high volatility dictates that you won't be sailing off into the sunset to play free games too often—so make your peace with the base game. Is Crabbin’ For Cash Extra Big Catch the catch of the day? Not exactly—but it's not a bad effort.
